Lawyer, professor, mentor, and our biggest academic ally.
I’ve always been driven by curiosity—asking big questions, exploring complex ideas, and finding real joy in learning. That love for discovery led me through law school at William & Mary, a judicial clerkship, Legal Aid advocacy, and work as a Reference Attorney. But it was tutoring the LSAT during law school that lit a spark in me: the power of helping others learn, grow, and believe in themselves.
I followed that spark to earn a Ph.D. in persuasion and communication, where I studied how our closest relationships shape our beliefs. For over a decade, I’ve taught courses on interpersonal communication, law, and advocacy—and I’ve tutored law students, bar exam candidates, and grad school applicants one-on-one, supporting not just their academic goals, but their confidence and well-being too.
At Amber Tutors Law, we envision a future where legal education is not just about mastering complex doctrines but about empowering students to thrive—academically, professionally, and personally. We are redefining legal tutoring by merging excellence in education with a deep commitment to well-being, ensuring that every student feels supported, confident, and equipped to navigate the demands of getting into and through law school, passing the bar exam, and beyond.
We are committed to delivering high-quality legal tutoring that empowers students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to excel. Our structured yet adaptable approach ensures clarity in complex legal concepts, setting students up for success in academics and beyond.
We believe that true success in legal education comes from balancing academic achievement with mental well-being. Our approach merges rigorous legal instruction with mindset support, helping students manage stress, build resilience, and maintain a healthy relationship with learning.
Legal studies can be overwhelming, and we create a supportive and approachable learning environment. We encourage open conversations, provide personalized guidance, and ensure students feel heard, valued, and empowered throughout their learning journey.
We lead with authenticity and integrity, upholding the highest ethical standards in our teaching and mentorship. We believe in honest feedback, transparent communication, and fostering a sense of responsibility and professionalism in our students.
Understanding the law is just the beginning. We emphasize real-world legal skills, including legal analysis, argumentation, research, and problem-solving—ensuring our students are well-equipped for exams, the bar, and legal practice.
Our students' success is at the heart of everything we do. Whether it's mastering coursework, passing the bar, or gaining confidence in legal writing and advocacy, we provide ongoing support and motivation to help each student achieve their goals—without sacrificing their well-being.
The path to becoming a lawyer isn't easy. It's demanding, relentless, and often feels lonely. Too many brilliant, capable law students struggle silently, grappling with self-doubt, overwhelming stress, and the weight of expectations. I know, because I've been there.
My journey into the world of law and education wasn’t just about mastering legal doctrines or writing persuasive arguments. It was about understanding the power of support, the necessity of well-being, and the transformative role of mentorship in academic success.
I’ve always been a lifelong learner—a curious investigator who asks the deeper questions, a passionate educator who believes knowledge should be shared, and a zealous advocate for those navigating the complexities of the legal world. My experiences—earning my J.D. from the College of William and Mary, clerking for judges, working in Legal Aid, and eventually pursuing a Ph.D. in communication and persuasion—gave me the tools to understand not just the law, but the people studying it.
But my biggest realization didn’t come from textbooks or courtrooms. It came from sitting across from students who were brilliant, driven, and yet paralyzed by self-doubt. It came from late-night conversations with law students who were convinced they weren’t good enough. It came from watching talented future attorneys second-guess themselves into exhaustion.
And that’s when I knew—tutoring law students couldn’t just be about logic games, case briefs, and bar prep outlines. It had to be holistic.
They need someone who sees them as more than a test score. Someone who recognizes that overcoming academic hurdles isn’t just about learning strategies but also about overcoming fear, anxiety, and burnout.
That’s why I don’t just teach students how to structure a persuasive argument—I teach them how to trust themselves.
I don’t just help them prepare for the bar—I help them manage the self-doubt that whispers they won’t pass.
I don’t just offer legal tutoring—I provide a community of support that reminds them they are not alone in this journey.
More than just studying—this is support designed for you.
Books, commercial courses, and classroom lectures can give you information—but they can’t always give you what you really need: personalized support, real-time feedback, and someone who sees the whole you.
Standardized prep is just that—standard. But no two students learn the same way, struggle in the same places, or carry the same doubts.
Tutoring fills the gaps that big programs can’t. It’s where your unique challenges get the attention they deserve, where your questions don’t get lost in the shuffle, and where your progress is measured not by a curve, but by your own growth. A good tutor doesn’t just help you study—they help you understand, adapt, and believe you can do this.
Because you can—and you don’t have to do it alone.
